Rise, It’s Finally Basketball Season Brandon Caldwell October 26, 2010 TV/Movies 1 Comment Hear the sound of a perfect jumper? Yes, it’s finally here. NBA 2k11 wasn’t going to hold people over forever, despite having Michael Jordan grace the cover. No, after three weeks of preseason games, the real thing begins on Tuesday night and the sports gods couldn’t be happier. After all the talk, speculation and decisions – we can get to the meat and potatoes of the winter sports calendar – the 2010-11 NBA basketball calendar. Highlighted of course by the Lakers attempting to achieve Phil Jackson’s fourth three-peat and the Miami Heat possibly being the only obvious thorn in the Lake Show’s way. I could go on and on about storylines, will they/won’t they but Nike captured all of that in their latest ad for LeBron James’ newest sneaker release the Nike LeBron 8. Wieden+Kennedy who have been crushing these ads lately for the sneaker giant absolutely took this one to another level. If there’s any more fuel needed for LeBron to run amok over the league this season, all he has to do is replay the events following his announcement of joining D. Wade & Chris Bosh in Miami. What happens in June is anyone’s guess at this point, but for now – expect the most intriguing season of NBA basketball since the mid 90s after Jordan’s first comeback.
