The Simpsons have been ingrained in American culture for the better part of two decades now and every time the show reaches the “couch gag” section of its introduction, things can either go wacky or surreal. Last night, the creators decided to throw a middle finger at itself by involving English graphic artist Banksy to show how capitalistic The Simpsons name is with Asian sweatshop workers busy creating Simpsons merchandise. Now, we know Rupert Murdoch probably wouldn’t care seeing that it’s making him money regardless but its kind of a sobering watch knowing that it’s actually true.
