Remember the “Lost in the World” track that leaked Tuesday (and found its way onto the site)? That was sort of fine and dandy with Kanye but when “All of the Lights” leaked last night and sent the internet into a tizzy, Mr. West took to his internet soapbox and basically put the entire world in time out.

It’s messed up that one hacker can mess everything up for everyone… I love to take a year to finish my songs and deliver them to you guys in there most completed form. It would have seemed like since I give free music every week even the lowest form of human being would respect that enough not to leak unfinished songs from my real album. – (Source)

We’ve been here before with Lupe Fiasco and now Ye. Leaks are leaks, super common in today’s digital age of music and the fact people actually pay for a leaked track to make their blog look “stupid dope” is crazy. Some blogs build their buzz on content and due diligence, others just want hits for the sake of hits to say they’re doing it when in actuality, they’re looking off their hosting platform and hit the refresh button a couple hundred times.

I get what Ye is saying when he’s serious, but then he says something like this and I get a little … skeptical.

In the lab with Soulja Boy and Cudi… 2 of my favorite most genius artist. Even in my disappointment about the leaks I feel blessed.

…I’ll save my “SB is a genius artist” comments for another post.
