Believe me, my reaction to Mo winning is right along with Sam Jackson’s. But hell, if her and her husband can sleep around on each other and her look at that statue like it’s only hiding a giant Three Muskateers bar then I guess she can be called Academy Award winner Mo’Nique. And who the utter hell thanks BET?! There is now a formula for winning an Oscar if you’re a black woman these days and my prediction for who may snag the award next year. Her remark about the Academy making the win about the performance and not politics… What is that all about? She won. What chip on the shoulder speech. Angry, bitter and ugly.
What politics about an award she was a definite shoo-in to win since she pretty much swept all the other award shows on the planet?
Nothing about black woman is a “shoo-in.” How long did it take for Hallie to win? Politics would have given it to the white woman, just because. Congrats Mo’Nique. Michelle Obama & Oprah aren’t the only two women little black girls can look up to.
Name a role before Monster’s Ball that Halle deserved to be nominated in. Only one I can think of was Losing Isaiah but 1995 was a packed year for the Oscar roles.
