Sunday Wrap-Up [Vol. 1]
July 5, 2009 in Sunday Wrap-Up

After a while, y’know, plodding through life you have to understand that you can make your life what you want it to be. While the end is already determined, the best you can do is see that you can get to the end stress free, mixing in a lot of joys with very little pains. And I’ll admit I’ve done the opposite plenty of times when it comes to my decision making but I’m trying to get better at it.
Thankfully my 4th of July didn’t involve my mother wanting to do the stanky leg, lots of liquor (although I did finish that bottle of NUVO), a bunch of Michael Jackson records and some things that people just couldn’t remember happening last night, but did. All it involved was a walk in Oyster Creek Park, some fireworks shows and driving to a friend’s house to watch negroes celebrate in their own way.
Sectioning off the street for their own fireworks show.
Now, think for a second. If you wanted to hear fireworks sound like multiple gunshots in residential areas thinking that two gangs were going to war (or that somebody let T.I. out of prison, I kid.) then you should have been there. There’s a reason why sometimes you can’t exactly give a certain section of people everything. They take it to another level, and the niggadom expressed last night by all means violated all the rules of “don’t do stupid shit in the suburbs”.
After last Sunday, we were treated to a little questioning about BET and their performance allowance while trying to somehow pay tribute to Michael Jackson (memorial is Tuesday @ Staples Center in LA, will be broadcasted all over the news). Vibe closed its doors, and I think the subscription company is blowing up my cellphone (I still have to figure out what the HELL kind of subscription service is in Iowa). Phonte dropped off a brilliant essay on the King of Pop. Drake figured basketball was the best way to describe the best he ever had and I decided to drop the second installment of This Shit Right Here, including a little inside joke that gave away something good. I’ve been switching back and forth between Ghostbusters (which is a GOOD ass game, albiet short) and UFC 2009: Undisputed after experiencing some fuckery with Fight Night: Round 4. But I can’t wait until next Friday when one of my only two game purchases a year drops – NCAA Football 10.
R.I.P to Steve McNair. I really hope he didn’t go out over what the media are already speculating.
Oh, and Kapn’ Kirk celebrated his birthday in truly unique fashion.
Also, as a note – I’m thankful seriously for all the views I’ve gotten while doing this. Wednesday will make it officially a month since the site went live and I’ve already gotten close to 1,000 views. THANKS!
